Näin söpösen kuvan neulotusta pupusta Ysoldan sivulla.
Päätin kokeilla osaisinko kyhätä Pupun ihan itse.
Tässä projektissa minun piti totisesti haastaa aivoni! ;o)

I saw a photo of a cute knitted bunny in Ysolda's page.

I decided to try if I could rig the Bunny together myself.

Pitsimekko / Lace Dress
Saimme kaksi hääkutsua kesäksi (09), joten olihan Hänelle tehtävä juhlamekko.
Muokkasin ohjeen v-aukon suorakaiteeksi ja kokovalkoisen raidalliseksi.
Tämä mekko mennee vielä tulevana kesänä tunikana.

We received two wedding invitations for the summer (09) so I had to make Her a party dress.

I modified the pattern's v-neck to retangular and whole white to striped.

This dress can most likely be used as a tunic in the forthcoming summer.

Pikkupiltin Perintöpeitto / Big Bad Baby Blanket
Tämän tekemisen aloitin heti kun sain tietää olevani raskaana.
MUTTA sain sen valmiiksi vasta äitiyslomalla!
Malli on niiiin yksinkertaisen tappava.
Kaunis ja monikäyttöinen lopputulos, mutta tappavan tylsä tehdä.
Ja se painoikin kuin synti. Tein tämän nimittäin suorilla puikoilla!

I started knitting this immediately after finding out I was pregnant.

BUT I got it done when I was already on my maternity leave!

The pattern is sooo effortlessly lethal.

Beautiful and multifunctional outcome, but lethally boring to make.

And it weighed like a sin. I knitted this with straight needles you see!

Ihastuin lehdessä olleeseen malliin. Sovelsin langat ja värit.

Koko on täydellinen (kerrankin), mutta värivalinnat ei toimi.

Voi kun olisin jättänyt ton kirjavan langan kauppaan...

Käytän tätä VAIN kotona tai pakkasella takin kätköissä.

I fell in love with the pattern in a finn magazine. I adapted the yarns and colours.

The size came out perfect (once), but the colours don't work.

O, I wish I had left the multicoloured yarn in the store...

I use this ONLY at home or beneath a coat when it's freezing.

Virkattu Spiraalihuivi / Crocheted Spiral Scarf
Näin työkaverillani tämänkaltaisen spiraalihuivin, jota hän ei ollut tehnyt itse.
Reippaana tyttönä tutkin huivia saadakseni ohjeen. Helppoa!

My co-worker had a spiral scarf like this that she hadn't made herself.

As a brisk girl i studied the scarf to get the pattern. Easy!

Virkkaa niin pitkä ketju silmukoita kun haluat (esim. 50kjs) +3kjs.
Virkkaa jokaiseen kjs:aan pylväs (yht. 49p) +3kjs.
Virkkaa jokaiseen pylväsväliin 2p, paitsi viimeiseen 3p (yht. 99p) +3kjs.
Virkkaa taas jokaiseen pylväsväliin 2p, paitsi viimeiseen 3p (yht. 199p).
Voit joko lopettaa tähän tai tehdä vastaavia kerroksia niin monta kuin haluat.

Crochet as long chain as you want (e.g. 50ch) +3ch.
Crochet to every ch a double crochet (in all 49dc) +3ch.
Crochet to every ch-space 2dc, but 3dc to the last ch-sp (in all 99dc) +3ch.
Crochet again to every ch-sp 2dc, but 3dc to the last ch-sp (in all 199dc).
You can either finish here or repeat similar rows as many as you want.

Kiri (Kolmiohuivi / Triangular Shawl)
Näin Team Knit -blogissa (nykyinen Knitted Bliss) valmistuneen Kirin ja ihastuin.
Tein ohjeesta ensin demon sukkalangalla, jotta selviää taipuvatko sormeni pitsiin.
En nimittäin ollut aiemmin tehnyt mitään tämän kaltaista.
No hyvinhän ne sormet taipuivat, joten ostin paikallisesta lankakaupasta sen omaa tuotetta.
Ohje oli helppo oppia ulkoa (ainakin minulle) ja kiva siitä että voi itse päättää huivin koon!

I saw a finished Kiri on Team Knit's blog (currently Knitted Bliss) and loved it.

First I made a demo of the pattern with sock yarn so I'd know will my fingers bend for lace.

Since I hadn't done anything like this before.

Well my fingers bended well so I bought from a local yarn shop their own product.

The pattern was easy to memorise (for me atleast) 

and great because you can decide the size of your shawl!

Calorimetry (Panta / Headband)
Halusin neuloa jotain pientä ja helppoa oppiakseni neulomaan lyhennetyillä kerroksilla.
Neuloin tämän tuplalangalla: toinen pysyi läpi työn samana ja toinen teki raidat.

I wanted to knit something small and easy in order to learn to knit using short rows.
I knitted with double yarn: the other I used throughout and the other made the stripes.

Yhteensä seitsemän vauvaa on syntynyt serkuillemme ja itsellemme.

Tyttö, Tyttö, Poika, Poika, Tyttö, Tyttö ja Poika. ;o)

Viisi nuorinta on saanut  tumput.

Year 2009 has truely been a baby year in our family.

Seven babies in total have been born to our cousins and us.

Girl, Girl, Boy, Boy, Girl, Girl ja Boy. ;o)

Five of the youngest have gotten pair of mittens.

Luo 30s, neulo 1O 1N resorilla 30krs, kavenna nurjat silmukat (15s),

neulo oikein 1krs, kavenna 7s neulo 1O (8s), kavenna 4s (4s).

CO 30 sts, knit K1 P1 for 30 rows, decrease the purled sts (15 sts),

knit 1 row, decrease 7 sts knit 1 (8 sts), decrease 4 sts (4 sts).

The highchair has been painted! Twice! ;o)

I painted in the basement of my in-laws

since we don't have that sort of place in our flat.

Now what's left is just to put it together, paint the ornament

that I mentioned earlier and of course using it! ;oD

The chair will be used today. The trim I'll do later...

Kärsimättömänä immeisenä oli pakko tilata ihan itse se Kaiku.
En voinut enää vaan istua ja odottaa, että joku tekisi sen puolestani.

Hyökkäsin siis Bookplussaan ja tilasin itselleni Diana Gabaldonin An Echo in the Bone -kirjan.
Aikaani säästääkseni tilasin samalla myös Dan Brownin The Lost Symbol -kirjan. ;o)
Kirjojen toimitusaika on 4-6 arkipäivää! ;o)

Ja 3 viikkoa sitten tilasin Diana Gabaldonin Outlander -kirjan signeerattuna Poisoned Pen:istä,
niin minusta tulee kohta tosi onnellinen... ;oD

As an impatient person I had to order the Echo all by myself.

Couldn't sit and wait anymore to someone else to do it.

You gotta do things yourself, right? ;oD

So I attacked Bookplus and ordered Diana Gabaldon's "An Echo in the Bone".

And to save time I also ordered Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol". ;o)

The delivery time of the books is 4-6 work days! ;o)

And 3 weeks ago I ordered Diana Gabaldo'n "Outlander" autographed from Poisoned Pen

so I'm about to get really happy soon... ;oD

Hioin tuossa yksi viikonloppu taas syöttötuolia...
Viime kerrasta viisastuneena en tosin enää yrittänyt hioa kaikkea maalia pois.

Nyt tuolin yläosa on hiottu.
Juu, ja samoin ovat sormen pääni, kynteni ja yksi sormuksistani! ;oD

Eli alaosa on vielä hiottava ennen kuin pääsen maalaamaan...

I did again some grinding to the highchair one weekend...

After getting smarter from the last session I didn't anymore try to grind all the paint away.

Now the top part of the chair is grinded.

Oh, and so are my fingertips, nails and one of my rings! ;oD

So the bottom part has to be grinded before I can get to the painting...
